About the Authors
Firas Al-Niaimi MSc, MRCP (UK), Specialist Registrar, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr. Al-Niaimi completed his undergraduate medical training in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and moved back to the UK and is currently a specialist registrar in the North Western Deanery. He has broad interests in many aspects of dermatology and has published in excess of 50 publications including 3 chapters of books and has numerous national and international presentations. He passed the Specialty Certificate Exam with a high mark.
Iskander Chaudhry MBChB, FRCPath, Consultant Dermatopathologist, Central Manchester Foundation Trust.
Dr. Chaudhry currently works at Manchester Royal Infirmary and holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Manchester University. He graduated from Manchester's School of Medicine in 1996 and then embarked on a career in Pathology, training in the Mersey Deanery. In 2004, he was awarded a Fellowship at St. John's Institute of Dermatology and trained as a dermatopathologist under Drs Eduardo Calonje and Alistair Robson. In 2005, he received a visiting Fellowship to Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA for 3 months and trained under the supervision of Professor Martin Mihm Jr. His research interests include alopecia, wound healing and keloid scarring. He enjoys teaching and regularly runs courses for trainees and consultants.
Vishal Madan MBBS (Hons), MD, MRCP (UK), Consultant Dermatologist, Laser and Dermatological Surgeon, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr. Madan is a consultant dermatologist at the Salford Royal and Central Manchester and Manchester Children's hospital trusts. He trained in dermatology in India and in the North West of England. He has completed a fellowship in lasers and another in Mohs surgery. His main interests are use of lasers in dermatological and aesthetic practice, Mohs and hair restoration surgery.
